Dying To Be Free

Quick update on Libya

From what I can see, the biggest problem isn’t the Slave trade. The biggest problem is that there are hundreds of thousands of Africans from different parts of the continent trying to escape to Europe via Libya.

Smugglers are being paid by the migrants to take them on a raft out to the middle of the Mediterranean Sea (about 12 miles off the coast of Libya) where hopefully they will be met by a European rescue ship that will take them aboard and sail them to the Italian shore. After exiting the rescue ship the refugees will receive medical attention and be registered to stay in Europe.

The flip side is that if the small raft carrying 100-120 men women and children flips over, people die. Over 4000 people have already drowned trying to flee Africa.

The refugees are being raped, robbed and beaten while waiting their turn to be smuggled out, some are even being sold off as slaves.

The militia that the Libyan government hired are untrained to handle this type of chaos. They are killing and beating the refugees that have been captured because they don’t know how to handle the dysfunction.

The Libyan government does not have the money to provide adequate food, shelter, bedding or medical care for these migrants and refugees that are being kept in these detention centers for months.

Another problem is that countries like Somalia, Afghan, Iraq, and other places that are the origin countries of the detainees are not even sending for their citizens that are stuck in these concentration camps aka detention center.

The only way I think that we can help is to put pressure on our government to put pressure on the African countries to go and get their people out of the detention centers. Other than that I’m at a loss for viable options. If any of this is incorrect please forgive me. I’m piecing it together from several sources, some that don’t speak English.

Let us continue to pray

Why We Expect Mass Murderers to Be White

The truth of the matter is that the United States was built on the genocide and mass murder of the indigenous people of this land. European men have been savagely killing people throughout history. After the native people of America were murdered down to insignificant numbers they moved on to African slaves. Building an entire country off the backs of black men.

Why do we accept this behavior from white men? Because that’s who they are. Throughout the history of the United States we have seen white men murder, rape, and abuse every race and gender with impunity. Women were property so they could be beaten and raped by their husband without any consequences. Slaves were their property so they could beat, rape and abuse them without prosecution.

With every passing day another child was born to see how things are done in America.  These learned behaviors are a direct reflection of what we see today with white men. Whether it’s in the work place, in the court room or on the streets. There is an air of white privilege when they are in the room.

And now what? I answer to this question in the video below.

Is Kneeling Disrespecting the US Flag?

Someone said go and educate my community..#ok

The United States Flag Code establishes advisory rules for display and care of the national flag of the United States of America. It is Chapter 1 of Title 4 of the United States Code (4 U.S.C. § 1 et seq).

“The flag should not be used as “wearing apparel, bedding, or drapery”, or for covering a speaker’s desk, draping a platform, or for any decoration in general (exception for coffins). Bunting of blue, white and red stripes is available for these purposes. The blue stripe of the bunting should be on the top.[6]
The flag should never be drawn back or bunched up in any way.
The flag should never be used as a covering for a ceiling.[7]

The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. It should not be embroidered, printed, or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use. Advertising signs should not be attached to the staff or halyard.

The flag should never be fastened, displayed, used, or stored in such a manner as to permit it to be easily torn, soiled, or damaged in any way.[8]
The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, firefighters, police officers, and members of patriotic organizations.
Flag lapel pins may also be worn (they are considered replicas) and are worn near the heart.

The flag should never have any mark, insignia, letter, word, number, figure, or drawing of any kind placed on it or attached to it.
The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.
The flag should never be stepped on.

In a parade, the flag should not be draped over the hood, top, sides, or back of a vehicle, railroad train, or boat. When the flag is displayed on a motorcar, the staff shall be fixed firmly to the chassis or clamped to the right fender.”

Can y’all disrespectful #SonsOfBitches stop disrespecting our flag!😂 oh stop making shit up. Taking a knee while the national anthem is sung is not listed as disrespect of the flag in the #flagcode 😂😂🖕🏽

We Push Away The Unimaginable

Today, as I was driving home from the store and a song came on the radio that I had never heard before. It was called “It’s Quiet Uptown” sung Kelly Clarkson.  My daughter who was sitting in the passenger seat quickly informed me that it was from the stage play Hamilton. I immediately downloaded the song and put it on repeat. The words have so much emotion behind them and so much meaning to me. One part of the song said:

We push away what we can never understand                                                                            We  push away the unimaginable

At that moment a light came on inside of me, and I now know what domestic violence and domestic abuse truly is. When we think of domestic abuse we think of something that occurs behind the close doors within the four walls of someones’ house. But its bigger than that.  Minorities in this country get up everyday and have to navigate through a country that has made it acceptable for domestic abuse and violence to happen in plain sight. Women are grabbed, groped, raped, belittled and sexually assaulted by  men of power on a regular basis, with very little or no consequence.  A United States Judge sentenced a rapist to only six months in jail, which he only served 60 days.  The Judge was more concerned about the rapist future instead of the communities faith in the system that was designed to protect and serve for the greater good of all American people. Look at where we are.

Does no one see that these cases are not only destructive to the victim but to all the women of America? These slap on the wrist cases make women aware that a man can violate them and get away with it if he has money and power.  Matter-of-fact sexually assaulting women in America may get him promoted or maybe even elected to the President of the United States.

Black and brown men have to walk on egg shells when dealing with white officers for the slightest move may get them shot or beat down. This is domestic violence. This is domestic abuse. How come they never show this in the domestic violence commercials? They are going through the unimaginable.

Can you imagine being shot down like a dog without cause, without merit, by a white police officer and all they have to say is “I was in fear of my life!” and that’s enough for the officer to go home and carry on with the work day. A man is dead, and he hasn’t caused any harm to anyone. He was unarmed and running away from the officer? And still he is dead. Laying in the street or in the grass for hours while the investigators take photos of a crime scene that will result in nothing more than some bad publicity.

How stressful it must be to know that if you are black or brown and you are convicted of a crime that your penalty will be significantly longer than a white person that commits the same crime. How scary would it be to know that your local sheriff wants you to stay in prison longer so that they can keep making money off your free labor?

Steve Prator, the sheriff of Caddo Parish, which includes the city of Shreveport and some surrounding areas, described state prisoners as a “necessary evil to keep the doors open” at the jail his office runs.

Among those are the ones that you can work, that’s the ones that can pick up trash, the work release programs, Prator said.

In addition to the bad ones, and I call these bad, in addition to them, they’re releasing some good ones that we use every day to wash cars, to change oil in our cars, to cook in the kitchens, to do all that where we save money,  he said.”

This is domestic terror. This is domestic abuse. This is domestic abuse. This is intentional!

There are moments that the words don’t reach
There is suffering too terrible to name
You hold your child as tight as you can
And push away the unimaginable
The moments when you’re in so deep
It feels easier to just swim down – It’s Quiet Uptown

Why We Protest!

I want to take a moment to compare two recent stories that involve the Utah Police. Pay attention how differently the similar situations ended!!

Situation #1

IMG_5481

Alex Wubbles is a white nurse at a hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. A detective by the name of Jeff Payne manhandles this nurse because she defies his orders. She is screaming and is trying to get away while the detective is trying to handcuff her.

Within 48 hours of the video surfacing Jeff Payne is no longer employed, he was FIRED James Tracy, his Watch Commander, was demoted two ranks from Lieutenant to Officer.

Their boss said their actions had undermined public trust.

Situation #2

“Police say they stopped Patrick Harmon, 50, on State Street near downtown Salt Lake City because he was riding his bicycle erratically and did not have a red rear light. After finding that Harmon had multiple open arrest warrants, including one stemming from a felony aggravated assault charge, the officers informed Harmon that he was under arrest. That is when he ran, according to a police body-camera video.” Harmon turned around and started to run when he was shot in the back! I SAID HE WAS SHOT IN THE BACK! The officer said he was “in fear for his life” because the suspect had a knife… As of right now the officer is on “modified duty” but this killing was deemed justified by the Utah police department.

White women defies officers orders, she is “manhandled” while being cuffed- officer FIRED

Black man defies officers orders, runs away, shot DEAD- Officer on modified duty…

and this is why we take a knee.
